ApplicationEPI NEMA Type 4 Free Standing Enclosures are designed to house electrical controls, terminals, and instruments in areas which may be regularly hosed down or are otherwise very wet. Suitable for use in dairies, breweries, and similar installations. Various interior panels and relay rack angles are available which can be mounted inside. |
| ConstructionMade from 14 and12 gauge steel. All seams are continuously welded and there are no holes or knockouts. Clamps are provided on three sides of the door in insure a watertight seal with neoprene gaskets. The gaskets are attached with oil-resistant adhesive. All exterior hardware (such as clamps, clamp screws, hinge pins, etc.) is stainless steel. A heavy gauge continuous hinge supports the door. A lip is provided around three sides of the door. This lip increases strength and keeps dirt and liquids from dropping into the enclosure. A hasp and staple are provided for padlocking. Panels and relay rack angles can be located on rear and sides of cabinet.FinishThe standard finish is ANSI-70 painted light dove gray enamel inside and out. Panels are the same. Other finishes are available for specific applications.AccessoriesPanels must be ordered separately as they are not furnished. Floor stand kits in 6, 12, 18, and 24 inch heights are available for factory installation on all single door NEMA 4 enclosures. Drip shield kits protect the door hardware from dripping water and settling dust.StandardsMeets National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Type 4 (Water Tight and Dust Tight) and Type 13 (Oil Tight and Dust Tight) enclosures.
