ApplicationEPI NEMA Type 4x Stainless Steel Wall Mount Enclosures are designed to house electrical controls, terminals, and instruments in areas which may be regularly hosed down, or are otherwise very wet. These enclosures are used in areas where serious corrosion problems exist. Suitable for use outdoors, dairies, breweries, petro-chemical plants, sewage plants, food processing areas, packing plants, and similar installations. |
| ConstructionMade from 16, 14 and 12 gauge stainless steel (Type 304 2B). All seams are continuously welded. There are no holes or knockouts. A lip is provided on three sides of the door, increasing strength and preventing dirt and liquids from dropping into the enclosure. The closed cell neoprene gasket is attached with oil-resistant adhesive. The stainless steel door clamps are quick and easy to operate. A hasp and staple are provided for padlocking. External mounting feet are furnished for mounting. Mounting brackets are provided for optional mounting panel, otherwise not installed.FinishThese enclosures are unpainted. A Standard Type 304 2B SS is furnished. Interior panels maybe aluminum, galvanizied, painted and stainless steel. Optional 316 2B Stainless Steel is available.StandardsMeets National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standard for Type 4 (Water Tight and Dust Tight), Type 4x (Water Tight, Dust Tight, and Corrosion Resistant), Type 3 (Dust Tight, Rain Tight, and Sleet-Ice Resistant), Type 12 (Industrial Use) and Type 13 (Oil Tight and Dust Tight) enclosures.
