ApplicationEPI NEMA Type 4 Screw Cover JIC Enclosures are designed for use in areas which may be regularly hosed down or are otherwise very wet. They are suitable for use in dairies, breweries, and similar installations. |
| ConstructionMade from 16 and 14 gauge steel. All seams are continuously welded. There are no holes or knockouts. The covers are attached with stainless steel self-tapping screws. Covers are gasketed with a neoprene gasket attached with an oil-resistant adhesive. External feet are furnished for mounting. Interior mounting brackets are provided for optional mounting panel, otherwise not installed. Panels must be ordered separately as they are not furnished with the enclosures.FinishThe standard finish is ANSI-70 light dove gray inside and out. Additional finishes can be provided.StandardsMeets National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standard for Type 4 (Water Tight and Dust Tight), Type 12, (Industrial Use) and Type 13 (Oil Tight and Dust Tight) enclosures. Also conforms to the Joint Industrial Council (JIC) standard EGP-1-1967. UL50.
