ApplicationEPI NEMA Type 4 JIC, Galvanized Steel Clamp Cover Only Enclosures are designed for use in areas which may be regularly hosed down or are otherwise very wet. They are suitable for use in dairies, breweries, and similar installations. |
| ConstructionMade from 16 and 14 gauge hot dipped galvanized steel sheets. All seams are continuously welded. Boxes feature external stainless steel screw clamps on all four sides for securing the cover. The solid neoprene gasket is attached to the cover with oil-resistant adhesive. All hardware is stainless steel. There are no knockouts or holes. External feet are furnished for mounting. Panels must be ordered separately as they are not furnished with the enclosures.FinishThe standard finish is a G-90, hot dipped galvanized steel sheet. Additional finishes can be provided. Additional exterior finishes may be necessary if located in a very wet area.StandardsMeets National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Type 4 (Water Tight and Dust Tight) and Type 13 (Oil Tight and Dust Tight) enclosures. Also conforms to the Joint Indus-trial Council (JIC) standard EGP-1-1967. UL50.
