ApplicationEPI NEMA Type 4x JIC Stainless Steel Screw Cover Enclosure is designed for use in areas which may be regularly hosed down or are otherwise very wet. They are suitable for use outdoors or in dairies, breweries, and similar installations. They are designed for areas where serious corrosion problems exist. |
| ConstructionMade from 16 and 14 gauge Type 304 2Bstainless steel. All seams are continuously welded. There are no holes or knockouts. The covers are attached with stainless steel self tapping screws. Covers are gasketed with a neoprene gasket attached with an oil-resistant adhesive. External feet are furnished for mounting. Interior mounting brackets are provided for optional mounting panel, otherwise not installed. Panels must be ordered separately as they are not furnished with the enclosures. Panels are made from 14 gauge steel.FinishThe standard finish is Type 304 2B stainless steel series. Optional 316 2B Stainless Steel is available.StandardsMeets National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standard for Type 4 (Water Tight and Dust Tight) and Type 4x (Water Tight, Dust Tight, and Corrosion Resistant) en-closures. Also conforms to Joint Industrial Council (JIC) standard EGP-1-1967. UL50.
